"Hi Marcus,
It's Rachel, the one who came to you with a needle phobia. I just wanted to say a massive thank you in helping to get over this fear. I had a blood test on Tuesday and was a million times better than I ever have been before. I was really impressed and managed to have the needle in my arm for over an hour. Thanks again for your help."

Rachel Bromley, Kent

"My IBS has improved dramatically – I can even vary my diet without big problems, just what I needed. Thank you."
Cristiane Morandin, Surrey

“Marcus. Thank you so much for your help! In only three sessions you have helped me so much, addressed and resolved my problem and improved things in other areas too! And it was all so easy, pleasant and relaxing. I am looking forward to finishing your book and will happily recommend you to my friends!”

Neuro-Linguistic Programming

NLP is an approach to therapy using techniques and skills drawn from many psychological, hypnotic and communications theories. NLP's major influences come from the work of Dr. Milton Erickson, and Family Therapist Virginia Satir. Gestalt therapy is also a source.

Hypnosis has been around for literally thousands of years. It has, in the past, been associated with the mystical. The truth is, however, that hypnosis is not the least bit mystic. We have all experienced this state.

Hypnosis is a natural state of altered awareness. We go in and out of it naturally every day. An example of this may be gazing at a naked flame, staring at the television or even staring at items on the shelves of the local supermarkets. Anybody that practices relaxation techniques such as meditation or yoga is using hypnosis. It is a very pleasant safe and natural altered state of awareness in which you are complete control. Whilst in hypnosis you are fully aware of everything that goes on around you, and you can return to full awareness at any time you choose.

What is cognitive hypnotherapy?

The word cognition refers to mental processes. These processes include attention, memory, producing and understanding language, problem solving and decision making.

The aim of cognitive hypnotherapy is to change the way the client thinks in relation to the presenting problem or life challenge.

When hypnosis is used to help a client achieve a therapeutic goal, the focus is on cognitive change; this is achieved by exploring and altering negative thoughts. When the mind is relaxed, the thinking process can be changed by using various cognitive techniques.

The therapy is always tailored to the individual.

As new positive beliefs are formed, the client begins to feel better, leading to new and healthier behaviour.
