Addictions
Addictions or compulsions are learned behaviors.
When a person unconsciously attaches a good feeling to a certain activity an addiction may develop. The person may also find a release from bad feelings by doing the addiction that makes them feel good.
In fact, when we feel a strong desire to do something, i.e. eat chocolate, drink alcohol, place a bet, or smoke a cigarette, what we are really experiencing is a compulsion. You may have read or been told that smoking cigarettes is a strong addiction, but in reality a long time smoker can quit smoking in minutes. I have seen many people at my clinic just stop … in less than an hour!
The truth is that most addictions are just habits or compulsions. Some are easier to change than others of course, but it’s important to remember that all habits, addictions and compulsions can be treated.
Hypnotherapy is a powerful way to break negative patterns of behaviours, such as drinking too much alcohol, eating large amounts of chocolate, smoking and gambling.
What the clients are saying:
"I USED TO smoke between 40 to 50 cigarettes a day before I went to see Marcus. I can't believe that after a short 90 minute hypnosis session “I just quit” it’s now been over 3 months and I feel a 100% better in myself. I highly recommend Marcus DSilva if you are thinking about stopping smoking."

Since the session 5 weeks ago, I haven’t touched any chocolate or wanted to. This imagery is very potent indeed. I’m thinking of getting Marcus to work on cakes next."
Rachel Dray
"I came to Marcus for help with my biscuit and chocolate binging and I haven't eaten or even wanted to eat any from the first session, the first week felt a bit odd as though I was missing something but since then it's been so much easier than I thought it would. So many thanks Marcus I feel so much better and more confident in myself."
